Episode 1: This Started With Me.

Episode 01: The Origin

There is a moment a lot of women know too well. It usually does not come with fireworks. It comes quietly, after years of pouring, planning, carrying, cooking, giving, showing up, holding it down, and making sure everybody else was okay.

Then one day, you look around and realize you have been building everyone else’s life with both hands — and somehow yours got left on the back burner.

This episode is the beginning of Center Yourself, Sis. Not because we are here to bash anybody. Not because every woman has to leave. Not because healing means blowing up your whole life by Friday. This is about something deeper: realizing that the person you have been waiting to choose you might need to be you.

This is not about hating him.

Hating still takes energy. Hating still gives him space in your head. Hating still makes him the center, just in reverse.

Decentering means he is not the sun anymore. The relationship is not the sun. The kids are not the sun. The job is not the sun. Everybody else’s needs are not the sun.

You are.

And the beautiful thing is, you do not have to have every answer today to start coming home to yourself.

You can be staying. You can be leaving. You can be unsure. You can be tired. You can be rebuilding quietly.

The seat is still yours.

In this episode, we talk about:

What it feels like to wake up and realize you gave too much of yourself away

Why decentering is not the same as bitterness or revenge

Why your time, labor, love, care, and emotional work all count

Why it is not too late to build a life that finally feels like yours

How to begin taking your seat back right where you stand

Key takeaway:

You were never the supporting cast. You were never too late. You were never selfish for wanting a life of your own.

The energy you poured into everyone else is proof of your capacity. Now it is time to bring some of that energy home.

Reflection prompt:

What is one thing you have been giving away — your time, money, labor, love, peace, or attention — that you are ready to start bringing back to yourself?

Write it down. Tell the truth. Start there.

Say less, champ. It ain’t over till it’s over.
